Obituary:
David Sutton aged about 70 years old who resided near Chest Springs, in Cambria County, was found dead on Friday evening, about a quarter of a mile from his residence. He had been making some repairs on the roadway, and, it is supposed, was seized with paralysis and probably died instantly. We are without full details at this writing, but we understand the deceased has four brothers and three sisters yet living, in addition to whom a large family of children survive him. One of his sisters, Mrs. Weakland, resides in Altoona, and one Mrs. Brothers, in Chest Springs, and Mrs. Barnes, of Houtzdale. Of the three brothers, on lives at Cresson and one near Asheville. We have not ascertained where the others reside. Of the children, three are at the old homestead, a stepdaughter, Mrs. J. B. Oarney, and another stepdaughter, Mrs. Owen Weakland, live in Altoona, and the others have sought homes in various places.
Mr. Sutton was noted for his unusual probity and uprightness and was among Cambria county's very best citizens. He was an industrious, thoughtful, and deeply religious mand, and while his ceaseless industry and economical management brought him a competence, he was never unmindful that there is an incorruptible treasure which endures when all earthly accumulations are of no avail.
Yesterday forenoon the lifeless body was borne to the St. Augustine Catholic Church where funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Father Ryan, who celebrated a High Mass of Requiem and delivered an eloquent oration. In the coarse of his remarks he called attention to the devotion and consistency of Mr. Sutton, and stated that during the eleven years of his pastorate the deceased had never once missed his monthly communion, and that in his careful observance of the requirements of church and religion he had been most exemplary. At the conclusion of the services the body was interred in St. Augustine cemetery. The interment was witnessed by a large concourse of people, giving evidence of the esteem in which he was held by all who knew him.
He rests amid his native hills. No stain is on his memory. He has left to his family and friends nobler heritage than gold, the heritage of a pure and useful life. the conditions that surrounded him may have prevented a wider circle of usefulness, but in his sphere, true to his Master, his fellow man and his faith, he lived a manly Christian life that may well be imitated and long remembered by those who knew, only to respect him.
A curious coincidence is noted in connection with Mr. Sutton's death. The deceased was married twice; and both wives, his mother, one son, one daughter and himsefl, all died on Friday. This is certainly remarkable.1

Mathias Farabaugh - "Elizabeth Noel Farabaugh died on April 26, 1884, several months after Gallitzin was born. Mathias was very bitter over this. From records we found, we know htat Mathias and John J. Noel, brother of Elizabeth, were appointed guardians of her children. Chlorinda, Elizabeth's sister took Gallitzin out to South Bend, Indiana (where he was stationed) to live. Gallitzin became a lawyer in a firm that was senior law advisor to Notre Dame University. He also held the position of Mayor of South Bend for 2 terms.
Elizabeth's other children were raised by the older girls in the family, Jennie and Katie. Mathias remained bitter. My dad could remember him and said that all the grandchildren were much afraid of him. He also remembered Mathias as having a long beard which was always dirty. Minnie, his daughter, never married but kept house for her father. When Mathias died, however, he left her nothing, but willed all he had to the living male children. The family felt that this was very unfair."1
