HENRY MARTIN
The remains of Henry Martin were brought last Friday from his late home in Lancaster, N.Y., to rest in the Fillmore Cemetery. the funeral service was held at the family residence, 27 Maple street, with the Rev. Lucien Scott, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, in charge. the bearers were John L. Staeber, Frank L. Smith, Charles Crommit, Henry A. Kerley, Raymond Heim and Robert Raines. The Akron lodge, I.O.O.F., of which Mr. Martin was a member, conducted the service at the grave.
The deceased was a native of Clarence, N.Y., being born here February 20, 1852. He married Elizabeth Bickert, whose family also had been connected with Clarence for years. She died about eleven years ago.
He was reared by his uncle and Aunt, the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Martin and resided in Clarence many years.
Surviving to mourn their loss are a son Henry C. Martin of Pittsburg, a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Smith of Lancaster, and five grandchildren. Mrs. T.C. Whipple of Clarence a cousin.
Mr. Martin's health had been failing the past year and the end came Wednesday, March 9, 1932, a couple of weeks after his 80th., birthday. His old friends in Clarence received the annoucement with sorrow.⁷

Family lore states Henry's birth name some version of Kimmerle. He was unhappy at home and lived with a Martin family with an aunt and took their name. Still need definitive proof that Peter or an unknown older brother was his father. John Martin had an older sister who married an (unknown) Kimmerer. Catherine shows up on the same record as Kimmerer.
